WINSTON CHURCHILL DESERT WAR TOBY JUG

It portrays Churchill with his binoculars. peering over the desert towards the German army. Churchill paid two visits to the 8th Army Desert Rats. At the battle front in Egypt. Where he surveyed the desert across which only a short distance away. Was the German army being led by Rommel.

On the base it shows Egypt 1942. Then the handle is in the shape of a Palm Tree. On one side of the handle. There is a Camel’s head. Over a black cat. On the other side of the handle. There is a small figure of Rommel. With a Silver Fox sitting on the top of a tank.

This Toby Jug is from the “The Life and Times of Winston Churchill” series of Toby Jugs.

Produced by Bairstow Pottery Collectables. Who are based in Stoke on Trent.

First of all  the Toby Jug was modelled by Ray Noble. One of the most gifted ceramic modellers. Currently working in the UK pottery industry. Then put into production at the Bairstow Pottery Collectables factory.  First of all it was hand cast. Then hand-painted. The whole production process taking five to six working days.

Another key point about this Toby Jug.  Produced in a world-wide Limited Edition of only 350.  Each Toby Jug is numbered on the base.
