Mason’s Ironstone China.

The manufacture of Mason’s Patent Ironstone China started around 1796. Produced by various owners until 1968. When the then owners renamed the company to Mason’s Ironstone China. To take advantage of the branding to improve the marking of the product.

However the business was sold to the Wedgwood group in 1973. Who were acquiring many of the small potteries at that time. Production continued at the old factory. Based in Broad Street, Hanley until 1998. When production was transferred to the Wedgwood factory situated in Barlaston. Continuing to produce traditional 19th century shapes and patterns. Including “Mandalay” which was an original Miles Mason pattern from the early 19th century,
