Tony Cartlidge Ceramic Artist

Tony an  experienced  ceramic artist, designer and modeller. Until recently worked for many of the major pottery manufacturers based in Stoke on Trent.

Such as Royal Doulton, Carlton Ware, Bairstow Manor Collectables and Lorna Bailey Artware.

In fact he designed many of the Double Sided Character Teapots. Issued by Royal Doulton in a Limited Edition of 1500 during 2002. (see Charlton Standard Catalogue. Royal Doulton Jugs 1oth Edition).

In addition to the Royal Doulton Double Sided Character Teapots. Tony was already a well established ceramic modeller. He is featured on page 142 of “Novelty Teapots – Five hundred years of Art and Design” by Edward Bramah. Known as the Teapot Collectors Bible. Modelling a teapot for Staffordshire Fine Ceramics.

Then probably one of the highlights of his career. Designing and modelling “The Largest Toby Jug in the World”. Now displayed in the Toby Jug Museum. Based in Chicago, USA.

Due to the hand painting process no two pieces  are identical. And generally most of the designs produced by Tony are “one off” designs. Consequently each piece of pottery produced is different and unique.
