This Burslem Pottery Stoneware Purse Vase Titanic Design.

On  its first and last voyage.

The vase is made by Burslem Pottery.

In their studio based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

First of all, the design is hand drawn onto the vase.

Then etched into the vase along the lines of the hand drawing.

This technique is called sgrattito.

The vase is then fired before it is hand decorated.

Being hand decorated, due to brush stokes and colour variations.

No two vases are identical.

Which makes vase is different and unique.

The design and the hand drawing, with the etching is done by Steven Shaw.

And hand decoration is done by Tracy Bently.

Both are ex Moorcroft Pottery and Cobridge Stoneware employees.

The height of the vase is 19cm
