Carlton Ware Rain Man Study Design Vase

The Carlton Ware  Rain Man Study Design Vase. Using traditional production methods it was hand cast in Stoke on Trent. Then hand painted at the Carlton Ware studio.

Produced in about  2012 .At that time Carlton Ware was using free-lance ceramic artists and designers. Hand painted by Anthony (Tony) Cartlidge. Whose signature is on the base. As well as the new Genuine Carlton Ware backstamp.

This design is a one off design of the Rain Man under his umbrella. With an outline of the famous Sydney Opera House in the background.

Carlton Ware.

The Carlton Ware story started in 1890 and traded under many different names until 1958. When it became known as Carlton Ware. And continued trading until 1989 when production ceased,

The Company and name then remained dormant until 1997.

It was in 1997 when Carlton Ware had a New Beginning. It was at this time that the trading name was acquired by Francis Joseph and production continued until about 2012 when retired. To distinguish the modern production he introduced the backstamp “Genuine Carlton Ware. Made in England”.
